Fishadelphia is a school-based community seafood program in South Philadelphia. We bring fresh seafood harvested in NJ and sell it at reasonable prices to a culturally and economically diverse group customers. Fishadelphia’s day-to-day operations are coordinated by a group of middle and high school students at Mastery Charter Thomas Campus in South Philadelphia.
We conducted community focus groups in the spring of 2017, and ran our pilot season in spring 2018. Please visit our web site for more information. You can also follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram!
This project has been generously funded by the United States Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Local Food Promotion Program (LFPP), and includes collaborators from NOAA-NMFS, Rutgers, Community Voice Consulting, Heritage Shellfish Cooperative, and Viking Village.
