I have been lucky to act as a mentor to a number of great students working on awesome projects.

Alise Strauch (Fall 2014): Alise, a Rutgers undergraduate, studied catch-and-release fisheries.

Frances Ianucci (2013-2014): Frances, a student at the University of Vermont, studied resource partitioning in Mongolian taimen (Hucho taimen). Frances presented her work at the Wild Trout XI Symposium 2014 (West Yellowstone, WY).

Evan Kwityn (2013-2014): Evan, a recent Rutgers graduate and current Master’s student at Montclair University, studied priority effects in traps for black sea bass (Centropristis striata). Evan presented his work at the American Fisheries Society/Mid-Atlantic Chapter 2013 Meeting (Tuckerton, NJ), and the American Fisheries Society 2014 Annual Meeting (Quebec City).

Jess Gezymalla (Summer 2013): Jess, a recent graduate from Hiram College, used histological analysis to examine sex differentiation and reproductive biology of sea nettles (Chrysaora quinquecirrha) in Barnegat Bay. Jess won the Rutgers Internship in Ocean Sciences (RIOS) 2013 poster competition and then presented her work in a poster at the Ocean Sciences 2014 Meeting (Honolulu, HI).

Huy (Howard) Kouan (Summer 2012): Huy, a recent graduate from Hobart and William Smith Colleges, used fatty acid analysis to look at seasonal diet variation in striped marlin from the Pacific.
